My Baker’s Dozen

My Baker's Dozen
Began: April 2011
Completed: November 23, 2011
Pattern: n/a
Border Yarn: Lion Brand Vanna’s Choice (Dark Grey Heather)
Hook: J
Dimensions: 57 x 41 inches (approximate)

With the addition of my new crafting table, I finally had enough space to lay out all the squares and come up with a design for my blanket. With the spark of creativity that this table ignited, I was able to crochet the squares together and make the border within three days.

I must admit that I was not very motivated to complete this project for a number of reasons:

  1. I submitted my colors to the group in February 2011, as I was scheduled to be the MOM (Member of the Month in April 2011)
  2. Some of the member must be color blind because as you can see above some of the colors are not correct.
  3. Additionally, some members do not own a measuring device as some where too big and one was even a rectangle (the only knitted one)
  4. Despite being scheduled for the month of April, I did not receive my last square until August 2011

Overall, I am satisfied with this misshapen blanket because I just love orange and I was able to join the squares using a crochet as you join method which was a very simple and efficient method. I did not even bother to make any adjustments to the wrong size squares I received, which I think may be the reason for the texture, which I kind of like.
